How do we get a marriage license?

You must apply for and pick up your own Marriage license from the County Clerk’s Office. It is only valid for 60 days. There is also a 3-day waiting period in Florida and 1-day waiting period in NY.  Please bring it with you to the ceremony. I will fill out the details, both of you will sign it along with your two witnesses and you will certify mail it to address indicated on the license, to legalize your union of marriage within 5 days. 

How do we start planning our ceremony?

Along with your deposit you will receive in some packages, “The Ultimate Wedding & Ceremony Workbook.” Read through the sample ceremonies and find parts that speak to you! When you pick out those parts, also feel free to share any ideas you may have. You may email me your notes and we’ll either talk on the phone, or set up a meeting in person. We can go from there to put everything together and create the ceremony that is right for you both.

Do you have your own microphone or speakers?

I do not bring any sound system equipment, those items must be provided by you, your venue, DJ, or musicians.

What is your contingency plan?

In the case of unforeseen circumstances I have a list of legally ordained and experienced officiants to call on as a back up. I keep your ceremony in google docs, so it is easily and quickly shared in such a case. If I am unable to be present, I will make every effort to ensure your wedding goes on.

Can you do personalized rituals within the ceremony, such as a Hand Blessing, Rose Ceremony, Unity Candle, or Sand Ceremony (uniting of your two families)?

Yes, I have variety of these rituals to choose form.

How do we get optional items we need for the ceremony?

All optional elements in your ceremony (sand, vases, candles, hand tying cord, wine boxes, etc) must be supplied by you and brought to the ceremony. Craft stores, dollar stores, online stores like Amazon or specialty wedding suppliers should be able to provide any items you’ll need.

Do you have a written contract? 

I do have a written contract. This helps to solidify all the details of the Ceremony as well as associated fees. This will help everyone to stay on the same page.

What services are included in your fee? 

You will be able to pick a ceremonial options and/or add-ons. These will be discussed at your consultation visit.

Will you charge extra for travel expenses? 

If the Wedding is out of town, are you willing to travel?

From my home in Saratoga: Up to 40 miles one way: Included

Additional Mileage is at $.53/mile

If the wedding is out of town, hotel accommodations and travel expenses must be provided.

Will you charge for the Wedding rehearsal?

Some packages include the Wedding rehearsal.

You will pick the package that suites your needs, as not all weddings require a rehearsal.

Do you require a deposit?

DEPOSIT: 50%  non-refundable deposit due upon booking to save the date.

FULL PAYMENT: Final balance is due 1 month (30 days) before your Wedding date or rehearsal.

SHORT NOTICE BOOKINGS: If you book within 30 days of your Wedding, full payment is due at the time of booking and must be made in advance. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment.

CHANGES & CANCELLATION: A change in venue location may change the package cost based on travel fees for the total distance. Any cancellation or change must be made and verified in writing/email.

PLEASE NOTE: Prices and availability are subject to change. Your price quote and date will be held for 1 weeks from your date of inquiry, and confirmed when a deposit is placed.

Would you perform the ceremony outside the place of worship?

Yes, in fact for a very small wedding (4 people), we have a Wedding Photography Studio in which we will perform the ceremony (your choice of backgrounds- want to get married in Paris? No problem, our digital equipment will take care of that (no green screen)…..along with photos of the event.

 Do you allow photography or videography during the ceremony?

ABSOLUTELY!

Do you have any restrictions pertaining to music?

This is a solemn occasion, so depending on the venue or Wedding theme, please plan 

appropriately.

Are there restrictions pertaining to wedding attire?

This is a solemn occasion, so depending on the venue or Wedding theme, please plan appropriately. (no nudity please).

Do you require any pre-marital counseling or a religious class?

No counseling is required, however sessions will be offered as an add-on service.

How many pre-Wedding meetings will we have with you?

Typically, 3. Our initial meeting, initial ceremony scripting, and final draft of the Ceremony. If you are having premarital counseling, then more depending on the number of sessions.

 Are you available for questions?

Questions arise out of the blue at the oddest time. You may text, phone or email me anytime.

Typically, how long does the ceremony last?

Between 15-30 min, depending on the elements of the Wedding.

Will you give a sermon or speech? If so, can we see a copy of your sermon or speech prior to the wedding? 

You will see the entire scripting of your Wedding ceremony.

Will you incorporate some light-hearted humor if we request it?

Absolutely.

May we write our own vows? If so, will you offer guidance?

One or both of you may write your own vows, just holler if you need guidance.

Can family members/friends participate in the service (e.g., readings, prayers, songs)?

Family/friends participation is highly encourage!
